Hello, all. In a couple of hours, I’m doing a talk on how non-scientists can put science in their SF. You don’t need a degree in science! I’ll go over various approaches you can use to base ideas in your work on science even if you know nothing about the scientific topic. Come on over!
This is short notice, but if you register for the conference (it’s free), they will have videos of all the sessions that you can watch at your leisure.

Great reading + review of Undercity over at the Bored Goddess reviews. The first half is her excellent reading, followed by her review of the book. She really gets the book. It got five ducks as a rating. 🙂

Hello, readers. I’m in the process of choosing a name for the Skolian sports complex where the Olympic track and field team from the world Raylicon trains. The patrons on my Patreon page made wonderful suggestions, and I set up a poll where people can vote for their favorites (you can choose as many as you like). I’ve removed the paywall on the last two posts about the name so anyone can vote. Please come over and weigh in with your opinion!
In the two posts below, the first is a summary discussion of the names and the second is the poll.
I’m not taking more suggestions for poll names; that was for Patreon members only. However, anyone and everyone can vote, and you are welcome and invited to do so.
The author of whichever name wins gets to have their name as an athlete on the Raylican Olympic track and field name in a future book (not the next one, which is already finished, but the book that comes after that). Or else part of the name of the complex.
If you’d like to subscribe to my Patreon page, keep up on the latest with my books (and life), win free books, and get to participate in these tuckerization possibilities, that would be lovely and thank you. The subscription page is here:

I’m pleased to say that SFWA picked up one of my books, Primary Inversion, for their Space is Big storybundle. Yay!
Here is the info: storybundle.com/space
Space is Big – Curated by Michael Mammay and the SFWA
The late, great, Douglas Adams wrote: “Space is big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space.” Perhaps the only thing bigger than space itself are the stories that take place within it, and in the latest bundle curated by SFWA, we have 15 great ones for you at one low price. We hope you’ll join us for this entertaining ride between the stars.
For this bundle, the SFWA Independent Authors Committee had the pleasure of sorting through over nearly a hundred excellent submissions! It was tough, but we narrowed our selection down to the ones we thought you’d enjoy the most.
For more info about the books, see storybundle.com/space

I’m doing a signing/panel next week on Wednesday, Dec 14, 2022 at 7:00 pm in the Port Jefferson Library, NY. It’s with two other authors, Sarah Beth Durst and Kelley Skovron.
I hope you can come by!
If you think you will, please do register at the address for the library: portjefflibrary.org/authors
You can do a walk in instead of registering, and many people do. However, that means that they don’t know how many will show up or even if anyone will come. Kelly Skovron has to travel from Washington D.C. to Long island, a several day trip for her, with the associated costs, so if they don’t get enough pre-registrations, she may not be able to come.
Sarah and I will be there regardless because we are local, but it would be lovely if they had enough sign-ups that they felt okay about asking Kelley to come.
Here’s the full address for the library:
